Handsome southern walnut empire chest featuring heavily reeded molding around top and elaborately carved and applied columns. A deep overhanging bonnet drawer over three long drawers.  Resting on short turned legs.  Diamond shaped escutcheons of lighter wood.  Yellow pine secondary wood.   Nice old surface with some cracks and warp to the top.    43" W x 46" H x 25 " D.  American, c.1840.
