Handsome craftsman sample of 18th century spice cabinet in walnut. Features broken arch pediment with carved rosettes and three spiral finials over a paneled door. The paneled door opens to reveal twelve small drawers with figured walnut fronts, around a center, larger drawer. The larger drawer has a hidden compartment at the back of it, marked "AB". Rests on ogee bracket feet. Signed on a drawer bottom by the maker, Alan Breed, a master craftsman from York, Maine in 1990. A wonderful example of a traditional spice cabinet form.
